Why choose Archer for high-level window cleaning?
With high-level window cleaning, an additional layer of risk is introduced.
That’s why we ensure all operators using MEWPS (mobile elevating work platforms) to clean high-rise buildings are IPAF (International Powered Access Federation)-certified and fully trained to use this equipment both safely and effectively.
Our cleaning contractors are also DBS-checked and carry out comprehensive risk assessments before undertaking any work. This approach supports the highest standards of health and safety while we work.
High-level window access methods
Archer Window Cleaning offers three distinct access methods as part of our tall building window cleaning services in the North West. These include:
Reach and wash systems
Our ladderless reach and wash systems are a safe and flexible way to clean high-reach areas (4 to 5 storeys). Featuring an extendable water-fed pole with a soft brush attached to one end, they offer gentle yet effective cleaning of atria, panelling, cladding, and signs – as well as windows.
By removing the ladder and keeping the operator’s feet firmly on the ground, we eliminate the risk of falls, helping to protect our operators as well as the public.
Cherry pickers
If reach and wash systems aren’t suitable for the job, cherry pickers allow for safe and direct access to high-rise windows.
At Archer Window Cleaning, we offer professional MEWP/cherry picker window cleaning in Manchester and across the North West, which includes ensuring each machine carries the correct certificates before being used on site.
Abseiling
Reserved for the tallest buildings, there’s rope access window cleaning. This involves abseiling down the building to access the windows or any other areas, such as signage or fascias, that require comprehensive cleaning.
This access method offers minimal disruption to any residents, employees, or customers while ensuring great proximity for safe and effective high-level window cleaning.

High-Level Window Cleaning FAQs
How high can your window cleaning equipment reach?
There’s no real limit to how high our window cleaning equipment can reach.
If our truck-mounted cherry picker equipment combined with a reach and wash system is unable to cover the entirety of the high-rise building, we can utilise abseiling.
Do you provide Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)?
Yes, we provide full Risk Assessments and Method Statements before any work starts. This approach ensures any health and safety risks have been clearly identified and can be effectively mitigated.
What access equipment do you operate?
Our main access methods include reach and wash systems, abseiling, and cherry pickers. Our detailed site survey and risk assessment will help our experienced team to identify the most suitable access method for your building.
